Sedentary lifestyles, daily stress, and a poor diet eventually starts to show itself as weight gain. Stress-relieving, physical activity can help you shed the weight and help you want to make better food choices.
People are not supposed to be shut up in a cubicle all day, only to come home and turn on the TV (then go to bed and repeat the cycle again and again). Being in class with other people just like you, focused on bettering themselves and reaching towards their best is absolutely invaluable to your own personal journey.
Making a real change, in any aspect of your life, requires motivation. Being surrounded by enthusiastic, fun, motivating instructors and friends, can help keep you on the right path and foster a sense of self-motivation. Our culture of support and success will help you reach your goals both on the martial arts mat and in other aspects of your life.
A confident mind set is crucial to being your best. As you achieve your martial arts goals in the right type of environment, you'll begin to "flex" your confidence muscles. We'll teach you how to be your own best coach, learn from your mistakes, and encourage yourself to new heights in all aspects of your life.
Flexibility is an important part of your health and fitness. You don't have to be as flexible as a gymnast, but you DO need enough flexibility to be able to move with fluidity, avoid injury, and continue doing your everyday activities without pain. Martial arts will help you improve your flexibility by employing a consistent stretching routine and keeping your muscles pliable.
Many of our lifestyle choices are increasing our risks for chronic disease. Smoking, overuse of alcohol, poor diet, lack of physical activity and inadequate relief of chronic stress are key contributors in the development and progression of preventable chronic diseases. Martial arts can get you moving, reduce your stress, and support you in making better behavior choices.
Everyone attends Martial Arts lessons for their own personal reasons. We have a great group of people who work hard to achieve things they never thought they were capable of.
